Robert Shaw Memorial Concert March 12, 4:00 PM Glenn Memorial United Methodist Church On the Emory University Campus The Meridian Chorale will join the Glenn Chancel Choir in their concert honoring Robert Shaw. This concert will include the southeastern premier of La Terra by 20th century Italian composer, Francesco Malipiero. Commissioned for the 1947 Symposium on Music Criticism at Harvard, La Terra - along with other works, was given its world premier by the then 31 year old Robert Shaw and his The Collegiate Chorale. The concert will also include folk hymns in arrangements by Robert Shaw and Alice Parker and an original work in memory of Mr. Shaw by Steven Darsey. |
