Original Compositions

Among the charter goals of Meridian Herald is to support the composition of an oratorio on Sidney Lanier's "The Marshes of Glynn" by Steven Darsey.  In 2006, he decided to expand the scope of the work to include all four poems that Lanier grouped into his cycle, Hymns of the Marshes. Mr. Darsey has composed over a hundred works, including a setting of Lanier's "Song of the Chattahoochee,"  premiered by the Paideia School, Atlanta in 2005.  For more information on this work, click the link below.
